Whether you are interested or not, it is almost impossible to not get caught up in the wacky, ethereal drama of celebrity weddings. It may have started earlier, but the real, intense coverage seemed to begin with Brad and Jen and Ben and Jennifer (try saying that 10 times fast). Now, whether it be a small ceremony on some far off island or an overly extravagant multi-million dollar affair, you can bet the entertainment media will be there with camera lenses polished and pencils sharpened.

Although it is not entirely certain why Paris Hilton is as famous as she is, she still earns a spot on the list of celebs dying to say I do. The 24-year-old socialite and heiress got engaged in May, celebrating the intimate day withoh, just 75 of her closest friends. The lucky man is Paris Latsis and yes, that really is his name. It must be a match made in heaven. In the Hollywood world of My-Engagement-Ring-is-Bigger-Than-Yours, Latsis has outdone his male counterparts giving the lucky bride 15 rings to choose from. The 27-year-old Greek shipping magnate (and 54th richest man in the world) and Paris may very well be married soon, according to a slip from one of Paris' close friends, although Latsis' father does not see it that way. According to the New York Post, Latsis has not even discussed the possible marriage with his father, Grigoris Kasidokostas.
Always one to do things differently, singer Pink (Alecia Moore) reportedly proposed to her boyfriend of four years, motocross racer Carey Hart, whom she first met at the 2001 X-Games. She wrote, "Will you marry me?" on a pit board, which he saw while he was racing. The couple have not set a date for the wedding yet.
Renee Zellweger showed Hollywood that a quiet and private wedding far from the paparazzis' roving eyes is in fact possible. The 36-year-old actress married 37-year-old country singer Kenny Chesney last May on the Caribbean island of St. John. The ceremony only lasted 15 minutes, without any pomp and circumstance, in the presence of close friends and family. The couple met four months prior to their wedding.
Twenty-year-old musician Avril Lavigne is reportedly getting on the celebrity marriage bandwagon. Deryck Whibley, the 25-year-old lead singer of rock band Sum 41, has been dating her for a year, and their wedding is set to take place once she finishes her European tour, according to US Weekly.
Although no date has been set for their wedding, just about everyone in the world knows that Tom Cruise proposed to Katie Holmes at the Eiffel Tower in July. The couple has gone against just about every rule in the celebrity relationship rulebook, making no effort to hide their relationship (or feelings for each other) from the public. Cruise's excited display of emotion on Oprah is bound to go down in history as one of the most publicized declarations of love.
Bennifer Take Two managed to make it down the aisle. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner were reportedly married in June, according to US Weekly. The couple, who are already expecting their first baby, exchanged vows on the Caribbean Islands of Turks and Caicos (possibly taking their cue from the Zellweger and Chesney wedding), in the presence of Garner's Alias costar, Victor Garber. Like most acting couples, they met at work while filming the 2003 action flick Daredevil. As opposed to the paparazzis' wet dream of a Hollywood relationship with Jennifer Lopez, Garner and Affleck kept things quiet. But his marriage proposal to her was anything but personal: He asked for Garner's hand at her 33rd birthday celebration, among her family and friends.
Nineteen-year-old Malcolm in the Middle star Frankie Muniz is reportedly engaged. The young actor fell for Jamie (whose last name has been withheld from the media), while working on his upcoming film, Stay Alive, in New Orleans. Information on the couple's plans, such as a wedding date, has yet to be released.
Actress Sandra Bullock has tied the knot with custom chopper guru Jesse James at a ranch near Santa Barbara. For Bullock, this is the first marriage, while James has been married twice before. It remains to be seen how big a garage will be needed for James' monster trucks.
