| Mel Gibson's fans will have to reach for the nearest Mayan-English dictionary to understand his next directorial project, Apocalypto. Set in ancient Central America, the movie will be based upon the activities of the Mayans at about the 1,000 B.C. mark. As with the Passion of the Christ, Gibson will use a cast of little known actors and actresses. Gibson's spokesman told Reuters that the title, Apocalypto, is a Greek term meaning 'unveiling' or 'new beginning.' Should this movie do half as well as the Passion of the Christ, this may very well be the beginning of many more movies that only Harvard professors will be able to enjoy without subtitles. |
